The Mission

MicroTau's mission is to improve the efficiency of the global aviation fleet, saving US$8 billion in fuel and 40 million tonnes of CO2 every year. The Marketing & Communications Intern will build and refine MicroTau’s reputation as a renowned climate tech innovator. You will craft and deliver compelling content that conveys MicroTau’s position as a pioneer in clean aerospace technology and a leading workplace for local engineering and clean energy talent.

This is a part-time role but all applications will be considered. You will report to the Marketing & Communications Manager.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare high-quality marketing copy that conveys MicroTau’s product offering, competitive advantages, and value proposition for different audiences including potential customers and investors

  • Draft and post to social media including content such as business announcements, news commentary, event plans, project milestone updates, media appearances, and so on

  • Create marketing assets intended for a range of audiences including flyers, brochures, one-pagers, and graphics in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Canva

  • Maintain an events calendar and identify opportunities for MicroTau to attend, present or exhibit at events to satisfy marketing and communications objectives 

  • Assist with events planning including trade show exhibitions and conference attendance

  • Create engaging editorial content such as blog posts, investor-facing newsletters, and public mailing lists

What Success Looks Like

First Month: You will get up to speed on MicroTau’s technology, our product offering, the market in which we operate, and our roadmap. You will gain an initial understanding of existing MicroTau contracts and projects, and of the stakeholders that must be considered in your output. You will learn and assume (partial) responsibility for MicroTau’s branding, including aesthetic style and brand voice.

First Six Months: You will be a seasoned pro at employing MicroTau’s existing marketing and communications processes and will have assumed control over many critical marcomm processes. You will confidently write and distribute comms pieces through social media and newsletters and manage MicroTau’s events calendar. 

First Year: As MicroTau’s product is rolled out and flying on customer aircraft globally, you will have built and implemented new marketing and communications processes and tools that satisfy the evolving needs of the business. You will deftly employ your storytelling ability to shape MicroTau’s brand as a leading climate technology innovator.

About You

  • Studying or completed degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Marketing, Communications, Business, Engineering, or similar)

  • Strong written communication 

  • Technical/scientific writing ability will be highly regarded

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud) will be highly regarded
